ELIGIN, IL. - Royals lose a close one in overtime against Judson University 2-3.
The Royals women's soccer team hopped on a plane earlier this week and traveled to play Judson University in Crystal Lake, Illinois (over 1,000 miles to be exact).
The Royals started off the game to perfection with an early goal in the fourth minute of the game. The junior
Blessing Zim scored the first goal of the game for the Royals with an assist by
Hannah Archibald. Then in the 20
th minute of the game, the Eagles scored their first goal of the game to tie it up 1-1.
In the 59
th minute of the game, the one and only Kristin Campbell scored the second goal of the game for the Royals with an assist by
Blessing Zim to take the lead 2-1. The Eagles were not going to go down without a fight. In the 89
th minute of the game, Judson University had a buzzer-beater goal to tie the game up 2-2 to send the game into overtime.
In the 99
th minute of the game, Alondra Blanco for the Eagles scored the game-ending goal to beat the Royals 3-2.
The Royal's record is now 1-1 this season. The Royals will stay on the road to play Trinity Christian College Monday, August 30, 4:00 PM EST.
