LAKE WALES, Fla. – Royals lose a close one against Ave Maria University.
Warner faced the Gyrenes for the first time this season, this being their fourth conference game.Â
The Royals fought hard against Ave Maria. After losing the first set 25-13 and the second set 25-14, they came back in the third set to beat the Gyrenes 25-21. Warner showed a lot of tenacity and life in the third set against the Gyrenes. The fourth set was a thriller. Each team fighting to get that 25
th point in the fourth set was keeping every fan on the edge of their seat. The Gyrenes ended up taking the fourth set 25-21 and leaving the campus of Warner University with their second conference win of the season.Â
Warner recorded a total of 48 kills on the night. Once again
Alexandra Gonzalez led the Royals with 15 kills on the night.
Savanah Griffin and
Kylee Brooks both had 4 aces against the Gyrenes.
Madison Hughes finished the night with 24 assists, she has a total of 234 assists on the season so far.
The Royals will face off against Keiser University in West Palm Beach, Fla. on Saturday, October 2
