(RV) Warner Men's Basketball - 2021-22 Men’s Basketball Schedule Revealed

The Warner University men's basketball schedule for 2021-22 has been announced, by head coach Sean Hanrahan. Fans will have the opportunity to see the Royals 13 times in the Turner Athletic Center.

The regular season opens with back-to-back Saturday afternoon home games for the Royals as they play host to Brewton Parker College (Oct 23) and the University of Fort Lauderdale (Oct 30). Warner will then head to the US Virgin Islands for three games in the USVI HBCU Classic. Warner will be the only non HBCU school in the event. The program is excited to celebrate Historically Black Colleges and Universities while playing three straight days in paradise, Nov 3-5.

On November 13th, the Royals then head to Florida Atlantic for an exhibition game to play the program's first NCAA Division one game since the 2015-2016 season where the Royals beat FAU 75-72. "Florida Atlantic is a premiere program in the state of Florida at the division one level. Coach May has done a terrific job turning around the program in a short time. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to go down there and see where we are at against elite competition," said Hanrahan.

Warner travels across the lake to take on Webber International on November 15 to open Sun Conference play. Finally, the Royals return home for a match up with Florida Memorial (Nov 18) before heading back on the road for games with St. Thomas (Nov 20) and another exhibition in Winter Park with NCAA D2 Rollins College, Nov 22.

The Royals take flight again after Thanksgiving for their annually trip to Kingsport, Tennessee for the NAIA Showcase. Warner will play IU Kokomo on November 27th and then Indiana Tech the following day at the Meadow View Resort. Warner is 5-3 all time in "The Show" with a two game sweep in their last trip in 2019-20.  The Royals finish the road trip at Carolina University, Nov 29.

"Our schedule is going to test our mentally and physical toughness early and often. We have two separate three games in three days stretches in November. We wanted to challenge ourselves to prepare for the grind of the Sun Conference regular season," added Hanrahan.

Warner takes on two more conference foes in December with a home game against Keiser (Dec 2) and a road contest at Southeastern on December 4th. The Royals face 2021 NAIA National Tournament elite eight participant in St. Francis of Indiana at home on December 10th. Finally, the Royals close out 2021 with their Christmas Classic on December 16-17 with games against Missouri Baptist and Columbia International in the TAC.

The second semester includes 11 conference games and one last non-conference game which is a trip to Temple Terrace to take on Florida College on January 11th. Thomas, Webber, St Thomas, Southeastern, Coastal Georgia and Ave Maria will all visit Lake Wales in 2022. The Royals wrap up the regular season with Senior Night verse Ave Maria on February 17th.

The Sun Conference Tournament is slated to start on February 22nd with the Quarterfinals, followed by the Semifinals and Finals on the 25th and 26th respectively. The NAIA National Tournament will start with regional play on March 11th and 12th which will determine who advances to the Sweet 16 in Kansas City on March 17-22.
