LAKE WALES, Fla. – Royals drop their first game of 2022 against Thomas University after a nail-biting finish.Â
The Royals played Thomas University at home to try and get their win streak back after taking a loss to Missouri Baptist University a couple of weeks prior to tonight's game. Warner historically has a very good track record against Thomas University. Overall, they were 14-9 against the Nighthawks and were 10-4 when playing them at home. The Royals started off the game on fire,
Joseph Martz was 4-4 from beyond the arc to start the game off and the Royals did not miss a three-pointer until their seventh attempt. At one point in the game, the Royals led by a total of 15 points.Â
In his first game back,
Jordin Jackson led the Royals with a total of 15 points on the night. Jackson was 5-6 from the field and 3-3 from the three-point line. He also registered 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Martz and
Logan West both had 13 points on the night. Martz had 2 steals while he also collected 3 rebounds. West had 5 rebounds. The Royals shot 56% from the field and 39% from beyond the arc.Â
The Royals will travel to play College of Coastal Georgia on Saturday, January 8, at 4:00 pm.Â
