GAINESVILLE, Fla - The Royals looked great in their second weekend of action of the 2023 season, they traveled to Gainesville, Fla to participate in the RADD Sports Open & Multi.


The Royals had great showing this weekend in the RADD College Invitational with five athletes competing in six different events. Derrick Jackson participated in the 60 meter, and 200 meter where he had a top 30 finish in both events. Nathaniel Maybell had a great day at the Invitational as he finished 6th in the Men's High Jump event clearing a mark of 1.90 meters. Another top performer for the Royals Men's Track team was Freshman LaShawn Powell, who had a top five finish, coming in fourth place with a mark of 13.20 meters on the Men's Triple Jump event. Taylor Gulley and Rickeem Henry both participated in the Men's 60 Meter hurdles where both placed in the top 20, Henry coming in at the 20th spot and Gulley coming in 11th with a mark of 8.89. The Royals are looking forward to building on two great weekends looking forward to the next meet where they return to Gainesville, Fla to participate in the Alachua County College Open on Thursday, January 26th.
