Warner Women's Volleyball Falls Short Against The Warriors

LAKE WALES, Fla - The Royals looked to make a late season push against their Crooked Lake Rivals Webber International University.

The Royals took on the Warriors for their second Conference match of the season, this time at home. The Royals got off to a slow start, as they would find themselves with a six point deficit before it extended to nine as the Warriors would take the first set with a score of 25-14. The Royals were led in kills today by Freshman Cristina Marrero, with senior Miranda Manduley coming in right behind her as she totaled nine kills. The Royals found their offense in the second set, as it would go back and forth coming down to a 23-23 tie before Webber would finish them off and gain a 2-0 lead in the match. Reva Godbolt would have a great game in front of the net as she registered four blocks for the Royals, as well as six kills. The Royals got into a groove in the third set as they would gain a lead over the Warriors before they started to cut into the deficit, but Warner stayed composed, winning the third set and gaining momentum late in the match. The Royals got out to a great start gaining a three point lead early, but Webber would fight back with a run of their own as they would score 10 unanswered points to catapult them to a five point advantage. The Warriors would ultimately finish the match with a six point lead to secure the match taking the 3-1 victory over the Royals.
