LAKE WALES, Fla - The Royals traveled to Miami Gardens, Fla to face Florida Memorial University for their second Conference game of the season.
Your Warner Royals took a loss last week on the road against the fire and were in search for their first conference win of the season against the Lions. As the game began, our Royals in the first quarter of play kept up with the Lions answering a touchdown with a touchdown of their own. Our first one of this matchup came from running back
Clyde Holland who rushed 24 yards for a Royals TD bringing the score to 7-7 leaving the 1st Quarter of play with 3 minutes remaining. After an amazing 1st Quarter of play our Royals defense had a long night trying to figure out and put a stop to the Lions offense as they took to the air and rushed the ball tonight. On the offensive side, QB Ronnie Joe Gilchrist made the most of his opportunity going 7/17, 1 rushing TD, and threw 170 yards for the Royals. His longest pass was a 65 yard pass to
Evens Valcourt who also led the Royals in Receptions and yards. On the ground, we found two touchdowns late in the game from the Senior RB
Kyle Metiam and QB Ronnie Joe Gilchrist. The Royals are still looking for their first conference win of the year and look to defend their turf next week against #9 Keiser.
