MIAMI GARDENS, FL- The Royals started their postseason play against the #17 St.Thomas University Bobcats on the road in Miami Gardens, Fla.
The Royals looked to gain momentum as they started off their postseason play against the St Thomas University Bobcats. The Bobcats managed to start putting the Royals tough on defense as they put up multiple shots throughout the entirety of the matchup. The Bobcats would jump out in front of the Royals with an early lead in the first half as they scored four goals throughout the first 25 minutes of play in this one. The Royals played persistent defense as they were able to put stops on the Bobcats offense.
Haley Houweling recorded five saves throughout the matchup. The Bobcats offense would continue to be aggressive as they were able to continue putting up points on the scoreboard putting pressure on the Royals. However, a mistake on the Bobcats defense would allow the Royals to score their first goal of the match. The Royals would continue to fight hard as the clock would keep winding down but the score would end with the Royals falling by a score of 7-1.Â
