Warner Men's Basketball - Foul Trouble Leads Seahawks Over The Royals

LAKE WALES, Fla - The Royals looked for another conference win as they faced off against the Keiser University Seahawks at home in the Turner Athletic Center.

The Royals found themselves trading blows back and forth against the Seahawks in this matchup. Blaize Darling Jr had a stand out performance for the Royals as he finished with 19 points, 14 rebounds, and an assist in this game. Logan West finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists in the game. Both teams showed their aggressiveness on the boards as the Seahawks outrebounded the Royals 47-36 throughout the game. However, the Royals defense would remain persistent as they would force nine turnovers courtesy of 7 steals by the Royals. The standout performance for the Seahawks would be given by Calvin Sirmans who finished with a game leading 22 points, eight rebounds, and three assists throughout his 40 minutes of play. Both teams got a good performance from their benches as the Seahawks bench would contribute to 24 points and the Royals bench would contribute to 16 of their points.
The difference in this matchup would come down to fouls, and the free throw line. The Seahawks were able to get to the line at a higher clip than the Royals and would shoot 20 more free throws than Warner, to capitalize helping extend their lead. Fouls were a big issue for the Royals, as they totaled 32 in the game to Keiser's 21 making it difficult for Warner to get into a rhythm on offense.  However, the Royals fought valiantly in this game but would fall to the Seahawks by a score of 79-69. The Royals look forward to bouncing back as they travel to Brunswick, Georgia to face off against the College of Coastal Georgia Mariners on January 24th at 7:30 P.M.
