LAKE WALES, Fla - The Royals host their season home opener against Reinhardt University tonight at Daly Field in non-conference matchup.
It beautiful day for softball as our Lady Royals hosted their season opener on Daly field facing Reinhardt University in a double header this afternoon. They pitched their pitcher to watch
Madalyn Morton to start off the series. The first game started off very good defensively. The Royals defense held it together. In the 4th Inning we started making errors defensively allowing for runners to get on base and score four unearned runs. We answered back in the 7th with
Tyler Mooring's shot to the left field cap allowing her teammate to score a run and earn Warner first run of the season. For our pitcher to watch this season held the team to four runs, zero earned runs, and seven strikeouts. They ended this game down 4-1. After a short break the sun was going down
Allie Hughes took the mound. She could not find her groove tonight and with some errors on defense game two didn't go as planned.
Raelyn Roland sparked some hope back to the Lady Royals as she was their first hit of the game in the 5th inning hitting a hard single to left field scoring
Autumn Calcagno.
Jordan Moore closed the gap some more and hit another single to right field, scoring
Violet Irving for the second run of the night. The game ended 10-2. It was a slow and upsetting start for our Lady Royals but next week they will come out ready to compete against Thomas University.
