Warner Men's Basketball - Slow Second Half Leads To Defeat Against #16 FMU

LAKE WALES, Fla - The Royals take on (#16) Florida Memorial in a conference matchup at home in Lake Wales, Fla.

The Royals faced a ranked #16 Florida Memorial in both teams second time seeing each other in this Sun Conference run. After Warner steals a close one from Florida Memorial at home the Royals hope to stay undefeated against this Lions team. You could feel the intensity of this game as soon as you walked in the gym. From the jump of this first half of play the game has been neck and neck with both teams finding the basket and playing tight defense all around.  Logan West could not be stopped in the first half, getting hot from three going 3-4 from the three point line and 7-10 from the field. He is also dominated in the paint defensively,  recording two blocks, doing a great job protecting the rim for the Royals. Skyler Scull as well is leading his team in rebounds and on track to earn a double-double for the night. As they went into the half the Royals found themselves down just one point at 38-37, and looked to make some adjustments to gain a lead over the Lions and close them out in the second half. The Lions came out hot out of the half, where the deficit for the Royals ballooned to a double digit deficit, and they could not find an answer for FMU offensive as the game ended with a score of 75-84 FMU. Logan West had an impressive showing tonight going 4-5 from the three point line and 12-18 from the field finishing off the night with 32 points and seven rebounds to keep the Royals within a nine point game. The Royals will travel to Ave Maria next Wednesday as they try to take a win from Ave after their OT loss  to Ave earlier in conference play.
