Warner Men's Volleyball Take Down Truett And Talladega In Three Game Road Trip

LAKE WALES, Fla - After the Royals took a quick break to play a scrimmage match against University of Puerto Rico we are now on week seven, past the halfway mark for the regular season. The Royals played against three teams on week seven, all while traveling to three different states.

The first match was against Talladega University, next year their men's volleyball program will be part of the AAC conference being a regular team the Royals will have to face off against. The Royals came out struggling much on serve receive and serving at the start of the match, losing the first set 16-25. After the Royals flipped the score showing the experience over the newfound program winning the second set 25-16. After the first set errors followed the Royals to the third set, the Royals were unable to gain momentum to close out the set. The Royals held their ground against the Tornadoes by clutching up the fourth and fifth set with a dominant performance by Mehmet Ceyhan and Romone Rudolph. 25-23/15-9.

The second match was a highlight match not just for the Royals but for NAIA Men's volleyball, the Royals took on King University, King last year made it into the NCAA National tournament. The Royals competed against The Tornadoes going 19-25/18-25/18-25, losing in a strong and long rallied three sets. Offensively the Royals went toe to toe with the Tornadoes but came short to serve receive.

The final match of the week was against Truett McConnell, a AAC conference match for the Royals. Compared to the first time the teams met, the Royals showed much more consistency with their skills. Minimizing services errors, serve receive errors, and overall hitting errors. The Royals took the first two sets, however, slowed down in the third set completely allowing the Bears to capture the third set 19-25. The following set the Royals changed pace to dominate the final set 25-13, this gap and win showed much improvement throughout the season for Royals.
