LAKE WALES, FL- The Royals started off their Sun Conference play as they faced off against the Florida Memorial University Lions in a three game series.
    In game one, the main presence would be the pitching as would be the key as both sides would pitch a complete game as
Madalyn Morton would pitch seven strong innings only allowing two runs and striking out 6 of the lions batters. The Lions pitcher Silva would go seven strong innings and allow two base runners in the entirety of the game as she would allow one hit and one walk. The tough blow came from the Lions' Justice in the top of the first inning as she would bring in two runs via a double giving the Lions an early lead which would be all they needed in this one. Both sides would play tough defense preventing anything from getting past the infield and outfield. The Royals would play hard but would fall short here in game one of the series.
    Coming off a loss in game one, the Royals looked to bounce back and take game two from the visiting Lions. Pitching was the strong suit in this one as well both teams would get great pitching performances from the Royals' Â
Allie Hughes and the Lions' Pinto. The Lions would capitalize off every mistake and a two run double giving them an early three to nothing lead. In the bottom half of the first inning, the Royals would get their first run of the series as
Tyler Mooring would double down the left field line scoring in
April Dominguez putting the Royals down by two. However, the strong pitching performance from the Lions would prevent any other runs coming from the Royals as they fell in game two by a score of three to one.Â
    After losing games 1 and 2, the Royals looked to battle back and take the rubber game of the series. The Royals got a strong performance from Morton as she would pitch her second complete game of the series recording the win this time.
Raelyn Roland would give the biggest blow of the game as she launched a two run home run over the center field wall in the bottom of the second inning.
Jordan Moore doubles down the left field in the bottom of the 4th following an RBI single by
Tyler Mooring. The Royals battled strongly in the third and final game of the series as they took the win by a score of 6 to 2 against the Lions. The Royals gear up to travel to Miami Gardens for their next three game Sun Conference as they face off against the St. Thomas University Bobcats starting on March 22nd at 6:00 PM.

- Sam Berube was patient as the dish and recorded two hits in the game three victory.
