Warner Baseball Falls Just Short Of The Bruins In An Intense Battle At Home

LAKE WALES, FL- The Royals hosted a Tuesday afternoon matchup against the Visiting Bellevue University Bruins.

The Royals sent out Noah Harsch as he searched for his 2nd win of the season as the Royals looked for a win against the Bruins. The Bruins jumped out front in the second inning due to a variety of singles to left field and an infield single  as well as a costly error caused by the Royals. The Bruins would score again in the fifth via a rbi groundout. Down by 4 heading into the later innings, The Royals cracked the score board as Jhenzel Figueroa would single into right field scoring in Triston Devane and later on in the inning Auston Chisenhall would single up the middle bringing in Carlos Vicente and Figueroa putting the Royals down by one. Kayden Anderson would step up to the plate and single up the middle scoring in John Malcom and tying the game at four apiece. In the bottom of the 7th inning, The Royals would take a two run lead as Diego Guevara would come through with a two out hit as he singled up the middle scoring in Figueroa and Chisenhal. However, the Bruins would continue to show their fight as they would battle back in the 8th inning as a double down the right field line would tie the game at 6 to 6 and the next batter would double down the right center gap giving the Bruins the lead; Another single would increase their lead to 8 to 6. In the bottom half of the inning, Chisenhall would come through with a RBI double scoring in Vicente cutting the lead to just one. The Royals would try to rally back in the bottom of the ninth but it would not prevail as they fell in this one 8 to 7. The Royals look to bounce back as they start the 2024 Warner Invitational tournament against the Siena Heights University Saints on March 7th at 4:30 PM.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Auston Chisenhall would have a stand out performance at the plate going 4 for 5 with three RBI's.
  • Diego Guevara would come through with a two out, two run double to take the lead in the 7th.
  • Ryley Rozar had a strong relief outing as he pitched 1.1 innings and struck out three batters.
