Warner Softball Beats Keiser In The First Game, But Fall Short In The Series On The Road

WEST PALM BEACH, FL- The Royals traveled to West Palm Beach and faced off against the Seahawks in a three game series.

Game one of the series was all about pitching as all pitchers in the game would showcase a strong performance. Madalyn Morton would pitch 4 innings and give up three hits and shortly after her Allie Hughes would come in from the bullpen and pitch 3 innings and give up 3 hits. Scoring would be limited until Andrea Rebello would hit a sacrifice fly bringing in the first and only run of the game. The Royals would continue to get strong pitching performance and secure a game one win by a score of 1 to 0.

After a game one win, the Royals found themselves trailing early in the second inning as Molly Reid would hit a three run homerun giving the Seahawks a 3 to nothing lead. Small would pitch a strong game against the Royals in this one, not allowing the Royals to gain any momentum and stopping their offense from scoring runs. The Royals broke the shutout as they would one run in the top of seventh as a wild pitch would allow Raelyn Roland to score bringing the Royals down by two. However, a strong pitching performance would prevent a Royals' comeback as the Royals would fall in game two by a score of 3 to 1.

Looking to take the series on the road, the Royals started off hot as they would score two runs in the first as Jordan Moore would single down the right field line bringing in Roland and was followed by Grace Derstine would single into left field bringing in Remy Camp for the second run of the game for the Royals. However, the Seahawks would have a strong performance from their offense as they would bring across 4 runs in the first via a single into left field and a single up the middle. They would continue to add to their offense throughout the rest of the game as they would increase their lead to double digits and continue applying pressure to the Royals. The Royals fought hard throughout the series and in this game but would fall in game three by a score of 10 to 2. The Royals host the visiting Ave Maria Gyrenes as they look to finish their season with a series win starting on April 24th at 5:00 PM.
