TEMPLE TERRACE, FL - Warner University Royals women's volleyball team faced a tough match against the Doane Tigers in the Florida College Labor Day Classic on August 31, 2024, ending in a 0-3 defeat.

The Royals, representing Warner University in college-level volleyball, struggled to find their rhythm against the Doane Tigers at the season opener. The Tigers secured the victory with set scores of 25-16, 25-18, and a nail-biting 26-24 in the third set.

Highlights for the Royals included Leah Cooley leading the team with 5 kills, accompanied by Julliana Abbade and Leonelis Lopez-Fernandez who contributed 3 and 4 kills respectively. In terms of defensive plays, Rylee Waldie and Sofia Suarez each recorded 2 blocks, aiding the team's efforts against their formidable opponents. The Royals also showed prowess in other areas of the match; Imar Laboy led the assists with 9 well-placed sets, while Skye McDermott not only contributed 4 digs but also scored 2 aces.
