MIAMI GARDENS, FL - The Royals dropped a second consecutive game to a Sun Conference opponent. On the road at the Fernandez Family Center, the Royals struggled to get hot out of the gates. Being outscored 42-27 in a lopsided first half meant the royals would have to play near perfect in the second half. Despite a 44-point second half, it was too little too late for the Royals to comeback while surrendering another 60 points.
Logan West led the offensive charge for the Royals as he put up 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. The woes from beyond the arch continued for the Royals as they went just 6-23 from three-point range. However, the free throw game was much improved from Wednesday night. The Royals managed a 69 percent free throw percentage going 13-19. Blaize Darling Jr added another 14 points to his season total bringing him to 291.Â
The Royals will be back inside of the Turner Athletic Center on Wednesday, January 15th at 7:30pm, to face fellow Sun Conference member, Southeastern Fire. After dropping the last two, the Royals will be searching for a win to get their record back within reach of the .500 mark.
