LAKE WALES, FL - In an intense SUN Conference basketball contest held at Turner Athletic Center on January 15, 2025, the men's Warner University Royals struggled against the formidable Southeastern Fire, ultimately falling 108-95. Despite a gallant effort and some standout individual performances, the Royals could not overcome the Fire's persistent lead.
From the start, Warner's Blaize Darling paved the way, scoring 33 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, yet it wasn't enough to secure a victory for the Royals.
Johnathan Joseph also made notable contributions with 18 points and led the assists tally with 8, showcasing his all-round game. The game began with Warner briefly leading by two points. However, by halftime, the scoreboard read Southeastern 61, Warner 41.
The second half saw the Royals attempt a comeback, sparked by Darling's energetic plays and Joseph's crucial three-pointers. Despite these efforts, Warner could not bridge the point deficit adequately. Alongside Darling,
Jack Voth added 16 points to Warner's tally.
Looking ahead, the Royals, holding a 7-10 record, will aim to rebound from this setback when they face the New College Banyans in Sarasota, FL, on January 18, 2025.
