Warner Royals Fall to Florida Memorial Lions in SUN Conference Play, 95-74

LAKE WALES, FL - In a challenging SUN Conference face-off, the Warner University Royals suffered a tough defeat against the Florida Memorial Lions with a final score of 95-74 at Turner Athletic Center on January 29, 2025.

From the onset, the Lions took an early lead, with key plays marked by solid three-point shooting and strong defense. Despite a spirited performance from the Royals, led by Blaize Darling with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, and Bryson Castillo who added 20 points including three 3-pointers, the strength of the Lions was overwhelming. The game marked a continuation of the season's tough battles for Warner, now holding a record of 8-13. Joshua Glesil and Jack Voth also made notable contributions, with Glesil securing 2 steals and Voth scoring 17 points.

The Royals found themselves trailing from the first period, ending the half down 65-49, a gap that only widened through the game. The Lions' dominance in rebounds and scoring in the paint was evident as they built and maintained their lead, peaking with a 27-point advantage in the second half. Defensive plays by Florida Memorial played a crucial role, consistently disrupting Warner's rhythm. The game ended with the Lions maintaining a solid win, leading by 21 points.

After this setback, the Royals are looking to regroup and focus on their next challenge against the Keiser Seahawks on February 5, 2025, at the Turner Athletic Center in Lake Wales, FL.
