LAKE WALES, Fla. – Warner Men's Basketball tipped off SUN Conference play on Wednesday night inside the Turner Athletic Center, falling 97–74 to a high-powered Florida Memorial squad. Despite strong individual performances and stretches of efficient offense, the Royals were unable to slow the Lions' scoring pace.
Jack Voth and Bryson Castillo led the Royals with 18 points each, providing a balanced offensive attack. Voth was a force at the free-throw line, going 12-of-16, while Castillo knocked down 4 three-pointers, shooting 7-of-12 from the field to deliver one of his most efficient outings of the season.
On the boards, Josh Irwin and Voth each pulled down 4 rebounds, helping anchor Warner's efforts in the paint. Seth Childers continued his steady playmaking presence, dishing out a team-high 6 assists, while Akeem Dauphin added defensive energy with 3 steals.
As a team, Warner shot 42.9% (24-56) from the field and 34.6% (9-26) from three-point range, while finishing 17-of-30 (56.7%) at the free-throw line. The Royals found rhythm during multiple scoring runs but were ultimately outpaced by Florida Memorial's transition pressure and perimeter shooting.
Warner will look to regroup as SUN Conference play continues, turning its attention to upcoming matchups both at home and on the road.
