LAKE WALES, Fla. – November 21, 2025 – The Warner University Women's Soccer team rose to the moment on their home pitch at Royals Soccer Field, defeating the #1 seeded Columbia International University Rams 2–1 to secure the 2025 NCCAA South Regional Division I Championship—marking the second straight regional title for the Royals.
The match delivered high drama from start to finish. Columbia International struck first, breaking through with a goal in the 42nd minute (42:37) to take a brief 1–0 lead. Warner, however, responded almost immediately. Just moments before halftime, the Royals earned a penalty opportunity, and Gianna Bellomo confidently converted at 44:07, sending the match into the break tied 1–1.
The second half featured strong defensive stands and continued pressure from both sides. As regulation neared its close, Warner once again created a critical opportunity inside the box. Bellomo stepped to the spot for the second time and buried the decisive penalty kick in the 89th minute (89:01), delivering the championship-winning goal and erupting the home crowd.
Warner totaled 13 shots with 7 on goal, while CIU generated 18 shots and 10 on frame. The Royals' defensive unit anchored the win, led by goalkeeper Haley Van Houweling, who posted 9 saves, alongside four defensive saves from the back line that proved essential in preserving the advantage.
With back-to-back NCCAA South Regional titles now secured, the Royals advance in postseason competition with confidence and momentum.
