Warner Men’s Volleyball Falls to Talladega College in Four-Set Battle

Talladega, Ala. – The Warner University men's volleyball team (1-4, 0-3) came up short against Talladega College (4-0, 2-0) in a hard-fought four-set battle on Thursday afternoon. The Royals fell 25-17, 23-25, 25-16, 28-26, in a match that saw both teams trading momentum throughout the match.
 

Match Recap:
The first set saw Warner struggle to get into rhythm, with Talladega taking advantage of early miscues to claim a 25-17 victory. Despite Darion Graham's strong showing with 6 kills, Warner was unable to slow down the Tornadoes, who capitalized on timely plays to dominate the set.

In the second set, Warner found their footing, responding with a much-improved performance. The Royals showcased resilience and were led by Graham, who posted 8 points in the set. Strong defense and timely attacks allowed Warner to edge out Talladega 25-23, tying the match at 1-1.

The third set saw Talladega reclaim control, with the Tornadoes running away with a 25-16 win. Warner struggled to maintain momentum, and Talladega's efficient offense kept the Royals on their heels.

The final set was a thrilling back-and-forth battle. Warner fought hard, led by Graham's 13 kills and Maddock's 6, but Talladega's strong attack and timely plays ultimately secured the 28-26 victory to close out the match.


Game Leaders:
Darion Graham continued his stellar play, leading the Royals with 20 kills, 22 total points, and 2 blocks. His offensive firepower kept Warner competitive, especially in the second and fourth sets.
Quentin Maddock added 6 kills and 3 blocks, contributing both offensively and defensively.
Michael Barnes added 4 kills and 5 assists, playing a crucial role in keeping Warner's offense moving throughout the match.
Emir Ege Gull controlled the offense with 33 assists, helping the Royals keep a balanced attack.
KJ Harrison was exceptional in the back row, finishing with 6 digs, while also contributing 3 points.
Oscar Jaquez made key defensive plays at the net, contributing 1 solo block and 4 block assists, finishing with 5 total points.
