LAKE WALES, FL - In a thrilling doubleheader at Lake Wales, Fla., the Warner University Royals softball team managed a split against the visiting Abraham Baldwin Stallions on February 8, 2025.
The day opened with a tough 0-8 loss for Warner in the first game of the series. Despite a well-pitched game by
Avery Garbarek, Abraham Baldwin's robust lineup managed to secure the win, with the Stallions hitting a crucial 3-RBI homerun in the second inning.
However, the Royals bounced back in the second game, claiming a decisive 7-1 victory. Key contributions came from
Samantha Berube,
Tyler Mooring,
Diana Martin, and
April Dominguez, who each crossed home plate. Special recognition was given to
April Dominguez who marvelously hit a triple in the third inning, adding an exciting play to her team's rally. Warner's lineup saw RBIs from G. Derstine, and E. Cabral, complementing the team's strong offensive rebound.
Looking ahead, Warner's next encounter will be against Calumet College of St. Joseph Crimson Wave on February 28, 2025, at Daly Field in Lake Wales, FL.
