Royals Battle in SUN Conference Northwest v. Central Pod at Webber International

BABSON PARK, Fla. – March 15, 2025 – The Warner University beach volleyball team put up a strong effort in the SUN Conference Northwest v. Central Pod at Webber International University, competing in three closely contested matches against Loyola, Mobile, and William Carey. Despite the challenges, the Royals showcased resilience and determination throughout the weekend.

Warner opened the event on Friday with a hard-fought battle against Mobile. The Royals secured two key victories, but the Rams edged out a 3-2 win. Pair 2, Karla Rodriguez and Julia De Jesus, delivered a strong straight-set win (21-17, 21-18), while Pair 4, Amanda Jimenez and Lydia Coggins, nearly forced a decisive match before falling in a close three-setter (20-22, 21-15, 12-15). Pair 3, Skye McDermott and Jocy Alfar, also forced a third set but fell just short, 21-10, 14-21, 15-11.

On Saturday, the Royals faced off against Loyola in their second match of the event. Despite a determined effort, Warner fell 4-1, with Pair 5, Amanda Jimenez and Lydia Coggins, securing the only victory with a dominant performance (21-11, 21-18). Pair 1, Leah Cooley and Ashlyn Fassnacht, battled in a thrilling three-set match but ultimately fell 12-21, 21-13, 15-11. The Royals showed fight across the lineup but were unable to overcome the Wolf Pack's strong attack.

In their final match of the weekend, Warner put up a valiant effort against William Carey but came up just short in another 3-2 loss. Pair 1, Leah Cooley and Ashlyn Fassnacht, secured a key win (21-16, 23-21), and Pair 2, Karla Rodriguez and Julia De Jesus, fought through three sets to claim victory (17-21, 21-14, 15-11). However, the Crusaders took the remaining three matches to clinch the team win.
