LAKE WALES, FL - In their final SUN Conference game of the season, Warner University's softball team faced a tough challenge against Keiser University, ultimately falling 10-1 on April 26 at their home field in Lake Wales, Fla. The Royals, who now stand with a 13-27 season record, could not contain Keiser's offensive onslaught.
Warner scored early in the first inning as
Diana Martin walked and swiftly took advantage of a double by
Jillian Hudson, leading to their only run of the contest. However, Keiser responded dominantly, especially during a pivotal 7-run inning in the seventh, which effectively sealed the game. We commend the efforts from Warner's starting pitcher
Keirsten Garman, however, the Royals struggled to curb Keiser's hitters, who also saw a few Seahawks driving in multiple RBIs.
Among the Warner team,
Jillian Hudson was noted for earning an RBI, helping Warner to momentarily hold a competitive stance. The loss marks a challenging close to the season for Warner, but hopes remain high and hearts remain full as the Royals celebrated 5 Seniors and their contributions to the program. The Royals look ahead to next season as they prepare to rebuild, refocus, and fight for Royal Wins in the upcoming year.
