Warner Men's Volleyball Battles Hard in Conference Pod Weekend

BABSON PARK, Fla. – April 6, 2025 – The Warner University men's volleyball team showcased resilience and competitive spirit in a pair of conference pod matches this weekend, taking on No. 1 Reinhardt and Bluefield College in Babson Park. Despite the results, the Royals delivered key individual performances and pushed one match to a five-set thriller.

April 4 – Reinhardt 3, Warner 0
Set scores: 27-29, 16-25, 14-25

The Royals opened the weekend against the top-seeded Reinhardt Eagles. Warner came out swinging in the first set, nearly pulling off an upset before narrowly falling 29-27. The team showed poise early, keeping pace with the Eagles through balanced offense and smart setting.

Senior Oscar Jaquez led the attack with 8 kills and a blistering .583 hitting percentage. Caleb Welling and Quentin Maddock each added 6 kills, while setter Darion Graham distributed 15 assists and chipped in 4 digs. KJ Harrison anchored the back row with a team-high 12 digs.

Defensively, Donovan Winsley and Oscar Jaquez contributed key blocks, with both players recording 3 total. Despite the 0-3 loss, Warner's energy and execution in the opening set gave fans a glimpse of what the squad is capable of against top competition.

Warner returned to the court with renewed energy on Saturday and pushed Bluefield to five sets in a gritty and hard-fought battle. The Royals came out on top in the first and third sets, showing offensive balance and service pressure.

Caleb Welling delivered a standout performance with 11 kills, a .400 hitting percentage, and 2 aces. Darion Graham filled the stat sheet with 8 kills, 21 assists, 4 aces, and 4 digs. Quentin Maddock added 6 kills, 4 aces, and played a strong all-around match.

Oscar Jaquez continued his efficient hitting with 6 kills at a .556 clip while adding 2 blocks. KJ Harrison once again held down the defensive end with 12 digs. Though Warner fell short in the final set, the effort and determination across the court was evident throughout the match.
