LAKE WALES, Fla. - In the 2025 home opener, the Warner University Royals Men's Soccer team faced a tough challenge against the Shawnee State Bears on August 23, 2025, ultimately falling 1-3 by the final whistle.

The match began promisingly for the Royals, with Vlad Andersen breaking through to score the first and only goal for Warner, giving them a lead of 1-0 by halftime. Shawnee State, however, turned the tables in the second half, marking a tremendous comeback. 

Marcel Tovar's credited assist contributed significantly to Warner's lead early in the first half. On the defensive end, Warner's goalie Mikey Melvin made several critical saves despite the pressured offenses from Shawnee.

Warner University Royals, now with a record of 0-2-0, look forward to their next challenge against Webber International University on August 26, 2025, at Royals Soccer Field.
