LAKE WALES, Fla. – Warner University Women's Track & Field freshman sprinter Blessing Ogundiran made an unforgettable collegiate debut as a Royal, delivering a historic performance that instantly etched her name into the record books and elevated her to the national spotlight.

Competing in her premier event, the 60-meter dash, Ogundiran blazed to a sensational 7.25-second finish, capturing first place  at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational hosted in Gainesville, Florida while simultaneously breaking the Warner University record, the NAIA indoor record, and the NCCAA indoor record. The remarkable mark currently places Ogundiran #1 on both the NAIA and NCCAA leaderboards and #10 on the All-College Indoor Track leaderboard for the 2026 indoor season.

Ogundiran's record-breaking debut has not gone unnoticed, as she has swept a full slate of weekly honors, being named:

  • SUN Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week (Read SUN Conference article here)

  • USTFCCCA NAIA Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week (Read USTFCCA article here)

  • NCCAA Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week (Read NCCAA article here)

  • NAIA Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

Her dominance in the 60m sprint marks one of the most decorated single-meet performances in Warner Athletics history and signals a bright future for the Royals' women's track & field program.

"Blessing's performance was nothing short of elite," said Warner Athletic Director, Sean Hanrahan. "To step onto the collegiate stage for the first time as a Royal and immediately rewrite multiple record books speaks volumes about her talent, preparation, and competitive drive."

Ogundiran and the Royals will look to build on this momentum as the indoor season continues, with the freshman phenom already establishing herself as one of the premier sprinters in the nation.
