Miami Gardens, Fla. - The Royals traveled down to Miami Gardens on Saturday to take on the #10 program in the NAIA in St. Thomas University. Warner battled with the #1 team in the SUN Conference, but fell in 3 sets by scores of 22-25, 18-25, and 23-25.

Warner came out on Saturday prepared to take on the top team in the SUN as the Royals battled back and forth with the Bobcats throughout the opening set. The Royals led the Bobcats multiple times during the 1st set and led by as many as 3 points 4 separate times, but were unable to keep STU at bay falling in set 1 by a score of 22-to-25. The Bobcats jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead to start the 2nd set and despite the Royals fighting back, STU would take set 2 by a score of 18-25. After falling behind 6-1 to start the 3rd and trailing 20-to-14, the Royals fought back and rallied to tie the game up at 23 points each. Warner fought hard to tie the game up at 23, but could not find the edge over the top ranked Bobcats and would fall in the final set 23-to-25 in what was an incredibly hard fought match by the Royals.

Senior Araya Garrison had another impressive outing for Warner on Saturday as she recorded 7 kills, 2 service aces, 3 blocks, (1 solo), and 3 digs. Garrison's performance had her leading the team in blocks and tied for the team lead in kills and service aces. Lizzy Short was tied with Garrison with 7 kills and Siarah Bencosme was close behind with 6 and led the Royals with 9 digs, while Natasha Lange tied Garrison with 2 service aces. Imar Laboy recorded her 4th game in a row with 20 or more assists on Saturday when she tallied a team leading 29. After Saturday's match, Laboy is only 8 assists away from recording her 1,500th Career Assist and would make her the 2nd ever Warner Women's Volleyball player to reach that milestone.

The Royals will look to bounce back when they travel to Ave Maria University next Saturday.
