MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Warner Women's Basketball continued SUN Conference play Wednesday evening, falling 75–45 to St. Thomas University in a 5:30 p.m. road matchup. Despite the final score, the Royals showed flashes offensively and continued to compete on both ends of the floor against a strong conference opponent.
Aleyna Sherman led Warner with 15 points, shooting an efficient 6-of-13 from the field and 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. Sherman provided a steady scoring presence throughout the contest while also contributing as a facilitator.
Tamara Bryant added a season-high eight points, giving the Royals a spark offensively. On the boards, Chanelle Harrison paced Warner with seven rebounds and added two assists.
Defensively, Carissa Marthy led the Royals with three steals as Warner worked to create opportunities in transition. Sherman and Harrison each recorded two assists to help distribute the offense.
As a team, Warner shot 31.3 percent from the field (15-of-48), 30.8 percent from three-point range (4-of-13), and 55 percent from the free-throw line (11-of-20).
The Royals now return home to Lake Wales for their next SUN Conference matchup, hosting Southeastern University on Saturday, February 14th, at 2:00 p.m. inside the Turner Athletic Center.
