LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Royals Women's Basketball team fell to (RV) Southeastern at home on Saturday by a score of 83-51. Warner started the game strong against the Fire shooting 7-for-13 in the 1st Qtr of regulation as the Royals defense held the highest scoring team in the SUN Conference to only 14 points to take a 19-14 lead into the 2nd Qtr. Unfortunately the Royals were unable to reestablish their rhythm as the Fire found theirs, slowly pulling away to take the victory away from the Royals.
Bethany Howard had another strong performance for the Royals scoring a game high of 21 points. Howard went 8-for-19 overall while adding 2 free throws to her total as she recorded 1 steal, 1 assist, and 1 rebound in Saturday's outing.
Anabelle Gogol was a force inside for Warner, pulling down a game high 13 rebounds, with 5 of those coming on the offensive end of the court, while tallying a game high 2 blocks.
Warner had one of their best free throw shooting games of the season knocking down 17 of their 18 shots from the charity stripe. The Royals shot 16-for-50 from the field and 2-10 from 3 on Saturday against a strong Fire program.
The Royals will look to finish their season on a high note when they start the final week of the season when they travel to Sarasota to take on New College of Florida on Wednesday.
