LAKE WALES, Fla. — Warner University Men's Volleyball hits the road Sunday afternoon as the Royals travel to Miami Shores for a neutral-site showdown against NCAA Division II University of Jamestown (N.D.). First serve is set for 2:00 p.m. inside Barry University's Health & Sports Center.
The matchup marks the first meeting in program history between Warner and the Jimmies, adding an extra layer of anticipation as the Royals look to bounce back from a 3-1 loss to Edward Waters University on Tuesday night.
Against EWU, Warner showed flashes of strong offensive rhythm and defensive grit but struggled with consistency at key moments. As the Royals reset ahead of Sunday's contest, the emphasis has been clear: limit unforced errors, sharpen on-court communication, and sustain energy from the first serve through match point.
Minimizing service and attack errors will be critical against a disciplined Jamestown squad competing at the NCAA Division II level. The Royals will need to stay aggressive while making smart decisions in system, especially during extended rallies. Cleaner play in transition and at the service line could prove to be a difference-maker.
Communication will also be a focal point. Strong, decisive talk on serve receive, defensive coverage, and block assignments will help Warner stay organized against a team they have never faced before. With limited familiarity between the two programs, in-match adjustments and leadership on the floor will play a major role.
Perhaps most importantly, the Royals are looking for sustained drive throughout each set. Maintaining momentum — particularly after runs by the opponent — will be key in a neutral-site environment. Consistency in effort, composure, and competitiveness will be essential as Warner seeks to secure a statement win.
