LAKE WALES, Fla. - Royals Baseball will travel to Ave Maria University this weekend for a 4 Game series to open up SUN Conference play.

The Royals enter the series after coming off their first series win last weekend against Thomas University. Warner took 2 out of the 3 game series in Thomasville, Ga, winning game 1 14-to-11 and game 2 of the series 7-to-1 before dropping the final game of the series 5-to-4. Friday the 13th's game marked the 3rd time in the young season where the Royals drove in at least 10 runs in a single game, the Royals are 2-1 when scoring 10 or more this year. The Royals also increased their stolen base total to 37 on the season, which puts the team at 19th in the NAIA and 5th in the NCCAA for stolen bases. Warner's aggressive base-running is sure to continue to cause problems for opposing defenses this weekend at Ave Maria. 

Ave Maria will come into this weekend's series with a 3-3 record and have not played since January 30th. The Gyrenes 3 wins all came against #17 Wayland Baptist (Texas) in their opening series, where they took 3 out of 4 games to start their season. Later that week they lost their next two games to (RV) Indiana Southeast in a double-header on January 30th. 

The Royals will look to continue their strong start to their season as they hope ot kick off their SUN Conference season with a series win on the road.
