RECAP: Royals Send Off Seniors With 78-70 Win Over Webber International

LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Royals Men's Basketball team sent their Seniors out with a 78-70 win over Crooked Lake Rival, Webber International University on Saturday.

Warner only trailed for the first 5 minutes of the game before taking the lead and never allowing the Warriors to retake the lead. The two teams would each go on runs in the 1st half going blow-for-blow, but the Royals were able to maintain their edge and would enter halftime with a 34-28 lead. Warner really took control of the game during the 2nd half taking their largest lead of the game at 23 points with just under 7 minutes remaining in regulation. WIU made a strong push in the final phase of the game, but Warner kept them at bay to take the 78-to-70 win to wrap up their season.

There were 9 different Royals that scored on Saturday's season finale, but Senior Jamal Norris lead all scorers with 21 points. Norris' final game of his Senior season was the best of year, scoring a season high 21 points while also recording 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Josh Irwin was not far behind scoring 20 points of his own going 7-for-9 overall and went 6-for-6 from the Free Throw line. The Senior also recorded 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist in his Senior Day win. Marcel Pace also hit double-digits, scoring 10 points as he shot 4-for-6 from the field and hit 2-of-3 of his 3-point attempts.

As a team Warner made 28 of their 65 shots while going 10-31 from 3-point distance and went 12-16 from the charity stripe in the win over Webber. The Royals finished their season on a high-note going 2-0 on the week after beating New College of Florida on Wednesday and Webber on Saturday, bringing their overall record to 7-20 and 4-11 in the SUN Conference. As the program enters the off-season the young Royals will look to fill the shoes of those Graduating Royals, taking what they have learned and continuing to put in work to make the Royals 2026-2027 season the best that the Program has seen so far.
