LAKE WALES, Fla. - After falling in the opening set, Warner came back to take Sets 2, 3, and 4 to sweep the season series with Crooked Lake Rivals the Webber International University Warriors on Senior Day. The Warriors took Set 1 by a score of 25-to-21, but the Royals took control of the remaining sets winning 25-21, 25-23, and 25-19 respectively.
Thursday night the Royals got to celebrate their graduating Seniors and give them one more win over the Webber International Warriors. The Warriors got the best of the Royals in the 1st set, pulling away at the very end to earn a 25-21 win. The Royals and battled in the next two sets as Warner was able to fend off the Warriors winning 25-to-21 and 25-to-23 in sets 2 and 3. Warner was able to pull away in the 4th and final set, winning 25-to-19 to take the match 3-to-1.Â
Senior
Romone Rudolph lead the Royals on the scoreboard recording 14 Points with 11 Kills, 1 Service Ace and 2 Solo Blocks, while also recording 6 Digs for a strong all-around day.
Caleb Welling was not far behind with 13 points on 11 Kills, 1 Service Ace and 2 Solo Blocks in the win over the Warriors.
Derek Martinez lead the Royals with 3 Service Aces, which is a new Career High for the Sophomore, and added 5 kills to his box score.
Meric Akovali recorded over half of the Royals Assists with 23 and
KJ Harrison lead the team with 9 Digs on Thursday night.Â
The Royals will look to continue to extend their winning streak this weekend when they host St. Thomas University on Saturday.
