LAKE WALES, Fla. - Warner Women's Lacrosse wrapped up its week-long homestand on Saturday, March 14, hosting St. Mary's College at the Tye Athletic Field in Lake Wales, Florida. Despite a 12-6 final, the Royals delivered a competitive performance highlighted by balanced scoring and strong defensive effort.
Warner stayed within striking distance throughout the contest, matching St. Mary's intensity and continuing to show growth on both ends of the field. The Royals generated consistent offensive looks while working to disrupt their opponent's rhythm defensively.
Three different Royals found the back of the net multiple times, as Vanessa Lynch, Abigail Petrillo, and Anaya Lister each recorded two goals. Lynch also contributed as a playmaker with two assists, leading Warner's offensive production on the day.
Defensively, the Royals were active and physical, particularly in the ground ball battle. Sophie Mato and Haylee Woodhouse each led the way with five ground balls, helping Warner maintain possession and create transition opportunities. Lynch added to her strong all-around performance with two caused turnovers, applying pressure and forcing key disruptions.
The Royals continue to gain valuable experience and build cohesion as they move through a challenging stretch of the schedule.
Warner will now look ahead to its next home matchup as they welcome Eastern Oregon University on March 25 at the Tye Athletic Field in Lake Wales, Florida.
