LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Royals hosted a fringe Top 25 team in (RV) Georgetown College (Ky.) on Monday. Warner battled with the Tigers and were able to take 1 set, but fell in 4 (19-25. 25-22, 25-16, 25-23).
After falling in the first set, Warner bounced back to take a tightly contested 2nd set that ended in favor of the Royals 25-to-22. The Tigers took set 3 by a score of 25-16 before the Royals battled back hard in the 4th set but were unable to force a 5th set falling 25-to-23.
Darion Graham lead the Royals with 19 total kills and added 3 Service Aces to record a team leading 22 points in the match.
KJ Harrison tied Graham with 3 Service Aces while adding 6 Digs and 3 Assists against the Tigers.
Meric Akovali had another tremendous outing for the Royals recording 44 Assists with 7 Digs and 1 Solo Block playing in all 4 sets.
Warner will look to bounce later this week when they host Oakland City University for back-to-back games on the 11th and 12th.
