RECAP: Royals Break Through with First Home Win in Thrilling Victory Over Eastern Oregon University

LAKE WALES, Fla. - Warner Women's Lacrosse earned a milestone victory on Wednesday, March 25, securing its first home win of the 2026 season with an exciting 16-12 triumph over Eastern Oregon University at the Tye Athletic Field in Lake Wales, Florida.

The Royals battled from the opening draw in a tightly contested first quarter that ended in a 2-2 tie. Warner gained separation in the second period, erupting for six goals to take an 8-3 halftime advantage. Despite a push from Eastern Oregon in the third quarter, the Royals responded with timely scoring and closed out the game with a strong fourth quarter to secure the win.

Offensively, Warner showcased depth and balance with seven different goal scorers. Morgan Van Auken led the way with four goals, while E'Mya Miller added three. Anaya Lister, Vanessa Lynch, Makenna Day, and Abigail Petrillo each contributed two goals, and Chelsey Schreck added one to round out the scoring effort.

The Royals also excelled in possession and hustle categories, controlling the ground ball battle and executing efficient clears throughout the contest. Defensively, Warner applied consistent pressure, forcing turnovers and limiting key opportunities down the stretch.

In goal, Sophie Mato earned the win with seven saves over three quarters of action, while Krisandra Ford added relief minutes in the fourth to help secure the victory.

With the win, Warner builds momentum heading into conference play and continues to show growth as a unit on both ends of the field.

The Royals will remain at home as they prepare to host SUN Conference opponent Life University on March 28 at the Tye Athletic Field.
