SARASOTA, Fla. - Warner Softball wrapped up their SUN Conference road series on Saturday against New College of Florida. The Royals battled hard against the Mighty Banyans, but ultimately were unable to best NCF falling in game 1 4-to-6 and game 2 by a score of 3-to-11.
Game 1: Royals Fall 6-4
Warner kicked off Saturday's double-header by getting a run on the scoreboard in the 1st Inning.
Jillian Hudson drove in
Diana Martin for the Royals 1st run of the game on a sacrifice fly that was caught by the Banyans shortstop. The two teams traded blows to start the game as NCF answered the Royals' run with two of their own in the bottom of the 1st. Warner would tie the game back up in the 2nd Inning when
Abby Faircloth hit an RBI single that saw
Meagan Bruns reaching home safely. NCF's offense pulled away over the next 3 Innings to take a 5-to-2 lead after 5 Innings.
Meagan Bruns cut the Banyans lead down to 1 in the 6th when the Junior crushed her first Home Run of the season driving in herself and
Grace Derstine to get the Royals to 4. Despite their late push, the Royals were unable to complete the comeback and would drop game 1 of the double-header by a score of 6-to-4.

Game 2: Royals Fall 11-3
The Royals got on the board early again in game 2 of the double-header, scoring their 1st run of the game during the 2nd Inning.
Diana Martin earned an RBI when she reached on a fielder's choice to shortstop that scored
Keirsten Garman. Despite falling behind over the next few Innings, the Royals continued to fight and drove in 2 more runs in the 6th Inning.
Alisha Wagoner drove in the Royals 2nd run of the game on RBI Double that brought
Grace Derstine home safely, which bring Wagoner's season total to 16 RBIs.
April Dominguez followed that up with an RBI single to score
Lauren Fernald to give the Royals their 3rd run of the game. Warner battled with the Mighty Banyans throughout the season, but would fall in the last game of the series 11-to-3.
