LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Royals continued their 10 game homestand on Thursday night when they played the 1st of a 3 game series against Morningside University. The Mustangs got the best of the Royals, taking game 1 of the series by a score of 14-to-4.
Warner got their first run in of the game during the 3rd Inning when
JD Swarbrick doubled to left field to bring home
Horiam Santiago. The Royals took advantage of some mistakes by the Mustangs pitchers during the 5th Inning, when
Jhenzel Figueroa and Swarbrick scored off of wild pitches.
Samuel Blanco then brought in the Roylas 4th run of the game during the 5th Inning when he hit a double down the right field line to get
Adriel Torres-Gonzalez home. The Royals recorded 3 doubles on Tuesday night, the 2nd most in a single game this season, and two of those went down as RBI doubles due to timely hits by Swarbrick and Blanco. The third double came off the bat of Torres-Gonzalez to lead off the 4th Inning.
Warner will look to bounce back tomorrow when they take on Morningside in a double-header to wrap up the series.
