RECAP: Pues Doubles and Triples Against #12 Webber International

LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Royals began their final SUN Conference series on Thursday night against the Number 12 ranked Webber International University at Sikes Family Field. Warner managed to 3 runs on 9 hits, but were unable to slow down the high-powered Warriors offense and fell by a final score of 13-to-3.

Adriel Torres-Gonzalez scored the first run of the game for the Royals in the 2nd Inning scoring on a wild pitch after his hard base running allowed him to reach 3rd off a base hit by Paddy Smith in the previous at-bat. Danny Garcia recorded his 14th RBI of the season during the 3rd Inning when he drove in Gabriel Rodriguez for the Royals 2nd run of the game. Warner scored their 3rd and final run of the game in the 7th Inning off a clutch RBI single to drive in Ethan Pues that was hit by Garrett Gregory who was down to the Royals last strike of the game due to Webber threatening to end the game via run rule. Warner was unable to cut in the Warriors lead any more in the 7th and would fall 13-to-3.

Ethan Pues had another strong day at the plate on Thursday, going 2-for-3 on the day hitting a double and triple as well as scoring one run for the Royals. Gabriel Rodriguez recorded his team leading 18th multi-hit game of the season reaching on 2 singles in 4 at-bats. Rodriguez caused some issues for the Warriors between the bases as he stole 2 bases on the night one of which forced a throwing error by the Warriors catcher that alllowed him to reach 3rd.
