LAKELAND, Fla. — Warner University Track & Field wrapped up a strong showing at the 2026 SUN Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held April 24–25 in Lakeland, Fla., highlighted by a conference title, multiple podium finishes, and a collection of top-five performances across both the men's and women's squads.
Leading the way for the Royals was Blessing Ogundiran, who claimed the SUN Conference Championship in the women's 100 meters with an impressive time of 11.27, solidifying her status as one of the conference's premier sprinters. Ogundiran also played a key role in the women's 4x100m relay team alongside Stacy White, Jahhi Clarke-Broomfield, and Bria-Sierra Brockington, who secured a third-place finish with a time of 51.29.
White added another standout performance in the field, earning a runner-up finish in the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.39 meters.
On the men's side, the Royals turned in several podium performances, highlighted by Cohen Gallant's second-place finish in the 100 meters (10.58). Gallant also contributed to the men's 4x100m relay team of Dylan McArty, Daishaun Gossett, and Nathan Dawes, which raced to a second-place finish in 40.28.
In the field events, Ryan Dube delivered a strong meet with a second-place finish in the long jump (7.39m) and a fourth-place mark in the triple jump (14.29m), while Gavin Yamaguchi added a fifth-place finish in the long jump (6.97m). Nathan Dawes also notched a top-five finish in the high jump, clearing 1.95 meters for fifth place.
Warner's depth was evident in the middle-distance and relay events. The men's 4x400m relay team of Daishaun Gossett, Nigel Smith, Anton Jones, and Timothy Brown placed third with a time of 3:22.79, while the 4x800m relay squad (Derick Gomez, Cameron Gonzalez, Jacob Scott, and Rian De-Jesus) finished fifth in 9:14.13.
Individually, Anton Jones recorded a fourth-place finish in the 800 meters (1:58.52), Nigel Smith placed fifth in the 400 meters (50.02), and Daishaun Gossett added a fifth-place finish in the 400m hurdles (53.52).
The Royals' performance at the conference championship showcased both high-end talent and depth across multiple disciplines, as Warner continues to build momentum heading into the postseason portion of the outdoor season. The Royals will now turn their attention to the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Asheville, North Carolina, May 20-22, 2026.
