Royals Compete Against Lake Sumter and St. Leo

Leesburg, Fl. – April 2, 2026 – The Warner University beach volleyball team traveled to Lake Sumter Community College to compete against two strong non-conference teams. The Royals used these scrimmages to prepare for the Sun Conference tournament next week

 

April 2 – Lake Sumter Community College 3, Warner 2 

  • Pair 1: Cooley/Fassnacht (WU) def. Pickle/Saunders (LSCC) – 24-22, 23-21
  • Pair 2: Cooper/Walker (LSCC) def. McDermott/Amer (WU) – 21-19, 16-21, 15-9
  • Pair 3: Walker/Comartin (LSCC) def. Coggins/Crosman (WU)  – 21-14, 21-19
  • Pair 4: Farkus/Mangum (LSCC) def. Dumont/Anderson (WU) – 21-16, 14-21, 15-10
  • Pair 5: Laboy/De Jesus (WU) def. Fintak/Pickle (LSCC) – 21-15, 22-20

Match Recap:

The Royals did not go down without a fight against LSCC. Pair 1, Leah Cooley and Ashlyn Fassnach, had a thrilling two sets victory over LSCC (24-22, 23-21). Skye McDermott and Antonia Amer battled in three sets before falling short in the third 21-19, 16-21, 15-9. Pair 4, Adeline Dumont and Ashlyn Anderson, went to three sets against their opponent and showed they are a competitive pair (21-16, 14-21, 15-10). Pair 5, Imar Laboy and Julia De Jesus, secured the second win for the Royals in two straight sets (21-15, 22-20)

 

April 2 – St. Leo University 5, Warner 0

  • Pair 1: Moore/Intagliata (SLU) def. Cooley/Fassnacht (WU) – 21-17, 21-19
  • Pair 2: Laade/Brossard (SLU) def. McDermott/Amer (WU) – 21-16, 21-17
  • Pair 3: Kemer/Muharemovic (SLU) def. Coggins/Crosman (WU) – 21-10, 21-11
  • Pair 4: Perez/Johnson (SLU) def. Dumont/Anderson (WU) – 21-7, 22-20
  • Pair 5: Saba/Vaerini (SLU) def. Laboy/De Jesus (WU) – 22-20, 21-11

Match Recap:

In the second match of the day, the Royals faced a strong D2 team. Pair 4, Adeline Dumont and Ashlyn Anderson, battled to take their game to a third set but fell short 21-7, 22-20. Pair 5Imar Laboy and Julia De Jesus, also looked to take set one against SLU in a tight match (22-20, 21-11)Leah Cooley and Ashlyn Fassnach showed their skills in a back and forth match up against Pair 1 SLU
