RECAP: Men's Volleyball Clinches 5th Straight Conference Tournament Appearance

BABSON PARK, Fla. - The Warner University Men's Volleyball team delivered an impressive weekend performance, securing two key AAC conference victories over Bluefield College and Carolina University to clinch their 5th consecutive Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament appearance with a 4th place finish in the overall regular season conference standings.

Warner opened the stretch with a strong showing against Bluefield College, displaying balanced offensive production managed by setter Meric Akovali accumulating 32 assists.  The Royals disciplined defense throughout the match led by libero KJ Harrison with 11 defensive digs, sealed the match.  The Royals controlled the tempo early, using aggressive serving and efficient attacking to keep momentum on their side to secure an important conference win in four sets, 25-11, 25-20, 23-25, 25-20. 

Building on that success, Warner carried its energy into Friday's matchup against Carolina University. The team demonstrated resilience and composure in crucial moments, executing offensively as Akovali led the team with 10 kills while maintaining strong defensive pressure at the net with five combined block points. Consistent teamwork and communication allowed the Royals to close out the match sweeping the Bruins in straight sets, 25-10, 25-13, 25-18.

With these victories, Warner University officially punched its ticket to the conference tournament for the 5th straight season. A testament to the program's consistency, growth, and competitive culture. The Royals now look ahead with confidence as they prepare to compete for a conference championship at the Tribe Sport Center in Kingsport, TN next April 16th through 18th 2026.
