LAKE WALES, Fla. – Warner University Women's Volleyball hosted Sun Conference opponent and No. 21 St. Thomas University on Saturday afternoon at the Turner Athletic Center. The Royals battled throughout the afternoon but ultimately fell to the Bobcats, 3-0, by set scores of 25-16, 25-16, and 25-16.
Warner opened the match looking to establish an early rhythm against the nationally ranked Bobcats, but St. Thomas maintained control across all three sets. The Royals continued to compete throughout the match, highlighted by several strong individual performances on both sides of the net.
Araya Garrison led the Royals offensively with five kills while also recording a team-best two solo blocks and seven total points. Antonia Amer also contributed five kills, while Rylee Waldie added four kills in the three-set contest.
At the net, Garrison paced Warner's defensive effort with two solo blocks, while Lizzy Short and Rylee Waldie each added two blocks.
Imar Laboy directed the Royals' offense with 13 assists while also recording four digs and one service ace. Maricelys Rivera led Warner with six digs, while Julia De Jesus and Leonelis Lopez each added three digs.
Warner finished the match with 24 kills, 23 assists, three service aces and 26 digs as a team.
