Kirk Talley

Kirk Talley enters his second season as head coach and fourth overall at Warner University. Talley was the defensive coordinator his first two seasons at Warner University.  

Talley came to the Royals after a 16 year stint as the head coach at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul. He left Northwestern with the most wins in its history, a 112-51 (.687) record, including a 90-21 conference record. Under Talley's leadership Northwestern also appeared in six NCCAA Victory Bowls. In his last season at Northwestern he guided them to an NCAA Division III playoff berth as well as a 7th conference title during his tenure. During his time at Northwestern he coached 42 players who were named to the NCCAA All-American team and 4 NAIA All-Americans. The 37 year coaching veteran is a long time member of the AFCA and has also served on several football committees.

Talley had previous head coaching stops at Crown College, Greenville University and Mount Senario College. Other coaching stints include Taylor University, Northern State University, and Miami University, Oxford, OH. Talley played college football at Golden Valley Lutheran Junior College and Pacific Lutheran University under legendary head coach and College Football Hall of Fame member Frosty Westering.
