Bobby Hain

Bobby Hain is entering his first season at Warner University as the assistant coach for the men’s basketball
program. Hain joins Warner University after a six-year stint at Lake Erie College.

“I am excited and grateful to be joining Coach Warren’s staff at Warner University.” Hain said. “I would also
like to thank athletic director Sean Hanrahan for this opportunity. It is exciting time for Royals basketball in
the return of Coach Warren to Warner University. I am thrilled to be working by his side and with this great
group of young men”.

In 2023, Hain served as the Associate Head Coach for Lake Erie College. Hain's key roles for the men's
basketball program included player development, recruiting, scouting, and monitoring the team's academic
progress. Hain started his coaching career in 2018 as a graduate assistant for the Storm before being elevated to
a full-time assistant coach.

In his first season with the Storm, Hain helped coach the program to their second consecutive Great Midwest
Athletic Conference (G-MAC) tournament appearance after setting a program record in their Division II era
for most wins (17) and most conference wins (12). The 2018 - 2019 team finished the regular season with a
17-12 overall record and 12-8 record in conference.

In Hain’s time at Lake Erie College, he had a strong hand in the development of award-winning
Storm athletes:

Gabe Kynard, 2018-2019 was D2CCA All-Region Second Team, CoSIDA Academic All-Region, and All-G-
MAC First Team selection after he led the team and was fourth in the G-MAC with 18.2 points per game.

Gabe Kynard, 2019-2020 was the Great Midwest Player of the Year, D2CCA All-Midwest Region Team
and NABC All-District Midwest Region Team. He was also a 2019-20 CoSIDA Academic All-American and
All-District Team selection. The senior guard lead the conference in scoring at 20.3 PPG, while shooting .433
percent from the field.

Jacob Plantz, 2022 - 2023, 2 nd Team All - Conference. Averaging 12.9 PPG while shooting 44.1% from the
field and 31% from three.

Jonny Manning, 2022 - 2023, 2 nd Team All - Conference. On the season he would average 12.4 PPG and 6.8
RPG. 

Jonny Manning, 2023 - 2024, 2 nd Team All - Conference. On the season he would average a career best 14.6
PPG and a career best in rebounds with 7.7 RPG.

Prior to joining the Lake Erie College coaching staff, Hain played collegiately at Youngstown State University
from 2012 to 2016. During his time at YSU, Hain was a three-year starter and captain for the Penguins. After
playing four seasons with YSU, he finished 8th all-time in program history scoring 1,187 points and finished
fourth all-time in rebounds with 679.

Following his collegiate career, Hain played professionally for Villars Basket in Fribourg Switzerland, where
he averaged 21 points and 13 rebounds per game. Hain helped Villars reach their first post-season semifinal
berth and earned Euro Basket 2nd team All–Switzerland honors in 2017.

Hain a native of Jupiter, Florida graduated from Jupiter High School in 2012 and went on to earn his
bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal Communications from Youngstown State University in 2016. Hain also
obtains a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Lake Erie College in 2020.
