Nick Combs returns to the Warner University Men’s Basketball program as an Assistant Coach, a driven and versatile addition to the 2026–27 coaching staff, bringing a well-rounded background in player development, operations, and program management. Combs has steadily risen through the ranks of collegiate and prep basketball, earning a reputation for his work ethic, basketball IQ, and commitment to student-athlete success both on and off the court, as stated by Head Coach, Matt Warren.
During the 2025–2026 academic year, Combs stepped away from basketball to broaden his professional skill set, working alongside former Athletic Director Sean Hanrahan in the Athletic Department office. Serving as Manager of Game Operations and Camps & Events Director, Combs helped coordinate game-day operations, manage camp and event logistics, oversee scheduling, and allocate resources. He also gained experience in budgeting, cash flow management, revenue tracking, and fundraising initiatives to support departmental goals and financial sustainability. This experience strengthened his leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills while expanding his understanding of the business and operational side of collegiate athletics.
During the 2024–2025 season, Combs served as both an Assistant Coach for the Royals and the Head Coach of the Developmental Team. In this dual role, he was heavily involved in scouting, film breakdown, operations, and player development. His leadership of the developmental program proved impactful, as three of his players earned promotions to the varsity roster during the season.
In the fall of 2023, Combs returned to Warner University as an Assistant Coach under Head Coach Sean Hanrahan. During Hanrahan’s final season, Combs played a key role in scouting, player development, and day-to-day operations. His impact and commitment led to his retention when Matt Warren took over as Head Coach in the summer of 2024.
Following his time as a student, Combs transitioned into coaching at Oasis Christian Academy. He started as the Middle School Assistant Coach, contributing on the bench by tracking live game statistics and supporting game management. After just one season, his work ethic and understanding of the game earned him a promotion to Middle School Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach. In that role, he continued to grow under the guidance of Middle School Head Coach Chad Jones, gaining valuable experience in leadership, player development, and program building.
Nick Combs is a dedicated and rising basketball coach with deep roots in Central Florida and a passion for player development, scouting, and program growth. A native of Winter Haven, Combs began his collegiate basketball journey as a Student Manager at Warner University during the 2020–2021 season, where he was part of a Royals program that captured the Sun Conference Regular Season Championship.
Combs is the proud son of Danny and Ann Marie Combs and brother to Matthew Combs.
