FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – In their first match of the NCCAA South Region Volleyball Tournament, Warner University defeated Emmanuel College (Ga.) 3-1 (25-18, 22-25, 25-15, 25-11) on Friday night. The Lady Royals (19-5) now advance to the tournament championship on Saturday afternoon against Southern Wesleyan University (S.C.).
The Lady Royals got a big performance from
Angie Pagan-Perez in their win over the Lions. Pagan-Perez finished with 21 kills and .327 hitting percentage. The junior also had 17 digs and two service aces.
Breeanna Navarro racked up 11 kills as well.
Jenna Swaffer had 39 assists from the setter position to go along with nine digs and three block assists.
Thalia Mendez led the Lady Royals, who totaled 77 digs in the match, with 18 digs on the back row. She also had two service aces as the Lady Royals picked up the 19
th win of the season.
On Saturday, Nov. 21, the Lady Royals and Warriors of Southern Wesleyan will meet at 1 p.m. for a spot in the 2015 NCCAA National Championship on the line. Fans can watch the match live online by
