LAKE WALES, Fla. – Warner University women's soccer team suffered their first defeat of the season on Wednesday night losing 10-1 to No. 4 Keiser University. The Lady Royals are now 2-1 on the young season while the Seahawks are 5-1-1. The match also served as The Sun Conference opener for both teams.
The Seahawks led 7-0 at halftime behind a 23-0 shot advantage. In the second half, Warner's
Jamie Murray scored her sixth goal of the season in the 72
nd minute to put the Lady Royals on the scoreboard.
Naybet Febo tallied her fourth assist of the season helping set up the goal by Murray.
The Lady Royals narrowed the shot disparity in the second half but were still outshot 13-5 by the Seahawks.
Nicole Screnock finished with two shots on goal for the
Lady Royals while Murray recorded the other three.
The Lady Royals return to the pitch on Saturday, Sept. 26, for a conference showdown with Johnson & Wales University. The men's and women's doubleheader will start with the women at 3 p.m.
